For the average citizen to obtain a Nevada CCW Permit, you are, at the minimum, required to attend an 8-hour course of lecture and perform a 30-shot skills test. We at Permit & Protect believe this minimum is insufficient considering, sometime in the future, you could be forced into a fight for your life or the life of loved ones and the only firearms training you received was shooting at a piece of paper 30 times. At Permit & Protect, it is our mission to give you real world techniques, not only to survive a fight for your life, but to absolutely WIN that encounter. To help accomplish this we have divided the class into two Sessions.
The 1st Session will consist of a 5-hour-long lecture in a classroom setting with questions and answers. This session can be scheduled to meet your needs.
Topics to be covered include Federal, State and local laws pertaining to the ownership and use of firearms as a defensive tool, combat mindset, states of mental awareness, defensive planning, moral and ethical use of deadly force and much more.
The 2nd Session will consist of a 6- to 7-hour firearm training course on range with lectures.
Topics to be covered include safety rules, components of a handgun both semi-auto and revolvers, how to properly load and empty a handgun, grip and stance, fundamentals of aiming, and much more.
The lecture session is usually held on Thursdays beginning at 5:00 p.m. and concluding at 10:00 p.m. The shooting portion of the course is usually held on Saturday or Sunday beginning at 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Directions will be given at the lecture. Accommodations can be made for people who cannot make it these days.
The items you will need for an enjoyable and safe experience include a firearm with at least two magazines, hip mounted holster, magazine pouch/carrier (not mandatory), 150-200 rounds of new ammo, eye and ear protection, a hat, sturdy belt, concealment garment, clothing appropriate for the weather, and drinks and snacks.
Thank you.
