Nevada Concealed Carry (CCW) Training Program

To obtain a Nevada Concealed Carry (CCW) Permit, state law requires a minimum of an 8-hour course consisting of classroom instruction and a 30-round qualification. While this satisfies legal requirements, Permit & Protect believes that these minimum standards alone do not adequately prepare responsible citizens for real-world defensive situations.

Our mission is to provide comprehensive, practical training that equips you with the knowledge, mindset, and skills necessary to protect yourself and your loved ones with confidence and responsibility. Our program goes beyond basic qualification by focusing on real-world application, sound judgment, and safe, effective firearm use. Our CCW PLUS course exceeds the standards required by the Chiefs and Sheriffs association.
To accomplish this, our CCW PLUS course is divided into two structured sessions.

Session 1

Duration: 5 hours Format: Classroom lecture with interactive discussion and Q&A Scheduling: Flexible to accommodate student needs

This session provides a thorough foundation in the legal, mental, and ethical aspects of defensive firearm use.

  • Legal considerations of defensive firearm use
  • Combat mindset and mental preparedness
  • Levels of situational awareness
  • Defensive planning and risk assessment
  • Moral and ethical considerations of the use of deadly force
  • And more

Session 2

Duration: 6–7 hours Format: Live-fire range instruction with lecture and hands-on training.

Topics include:

  • Firearm safety rules and best practices
  • Handgun components (semi-automatic pistols and revolvers)
  • Proper loading and unloading procedures
  • Grip, stance, and body mechanics
  • Fundamentals of aiming and trigger control

DARCY NEIGHBORS

"I had NEVER held a gun until I took Ed's class. To say the least, I was scared to death! He was an incredible instructor in the classroom and out in the field. After taking his class, I feel confident I could defend myself if I ever had to. I would highly recommend his program!!"

JULIA S.

“Ed was an incredible instructor because safety is the number 1 priority to him. I immediately felt I could trust this man because he knows what he’s doing. All said and done I finished the class by shooting an automatic M16.”

DOA ROSS

“I signed up for Ed’s CCW class to become comfortable around a handgun. His class taught the laws and regulations, but more importantly, we learned everything about safely operating the guns. Not only did I learn how to aim and shoot with speed and precision, I also learned how to identify and safely clear different types of jams, how to be aware of my surroundings, how to draw a weapon from a concealed location and so much more.”

DIANNA KLEIN,
CAPTAIN US AIR FORCE

"I had the pleasure of working with Ed two years ago to obtain my CCW. Every moment of his course was valuable, from classroom learning to the actual range. Ed packs so much knowledge in an easy-to-understand manner, even for the novice shooter. As a past competitive shooter, I've attended many training courses and received coaching from elite firearms experts. Ed's CCW course is one of the best I've ever had. It's a very worthwhile use of your time.”
